The Familiar and The Strange

Sometimes
The familiar remain strange.
Like,
To know a neighbor who remains a stranger.
The moments you wish
You could ask a stranger a familiar question
Or wish that some one
could just let  a smile suffuse his face
So your heart could light up
In spite all the foreboding clouds of life that threatens.
But being self conscious
You hold back
And pine as you watch them walk on by
Wishes don't get us friends
Stepping out of the shadows does.
